WIDA ACCESS FOR ENGLISH LEARNERS ASSESSMENTS

APPLICABLE FEDERAL/STATE LAW: Administered in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 §1111 (b)(3)(C)(ix)(III).

PURPOSE & USE: Administered to English Learners to evaluate English proficiency. For more information visit the WIDA website.

ADMINISTRATION WINDOW: Spring / March 4 – April 19 (Tentative)

RESULTS TO PARENTS & STUDENTS: Student results are reported in three ways: as raw scores, scale scores, and English language proficiency (ELP) levels.  Parents will be provided with results upon receipt from the state (typically in the fall, as results are received in the early summer).

Scores are reported for each of the four language domains and in several composites as follows:

  • Listening
  • Speaking
  • Reading
  • Writing
